Privacy and data boundaries

Emban is built as a self-hosted product. That architectural choice is the core privacy boundary: your customer analytics data stays in your environment unless you decide otherwise.

What this page covers

This policy covers the public Emban website at emban.sidelabs.dev, product evaluation flows, and direct contact with SideLabs. Emban itself is self-hosted, so production customer analytics data stays in your own infrastructure unless you explicitly send it to us.

Website data

We may collect basic operational data needed to run the site, such as server logs, page requests, browser metadata, and referral information. We use this to keep the site available, understand demand, and investigate abuse or security incidents.

Product and infrastructure data

Emban is designed so that your ClickHouse data remains under your control. When you self-host Emban, dashboards, queries, tenant-scoped sessions, and production analytics data are processed in your environment. We do not run a hosted Emban cloud.

Contact and sales inquiries

If you email us or request access, we may store the contact details and message contents needed to respond, continue the conversation, and support a commercial relationship. We do not sell this information.

Sharing and retention

We share data only with service providers needed to operate the website, communications, and payment or contracting workflows, or when required by law. We retain website and inquiry data only for as long as needed for those purposes.

Questions

Privacy questions can be sent to support@sidelabs.dev. If you are evaluating Emban for a regulated environment, contact us before deployment so the infrastructure boundary is explicit from the start.
